Symposium Course Description:

Join us for a technical seminar on the use of Micro-Flow Imaging (MFI) with automation for particle characterization. Dan Bach Kristensen, Senior Pharmaceutical Scientist at Takeda Pharma, will describe a recent study comparing manual to automated high throughput methods on the MFI 5200 with Bot1 Autosampler. Attendees will learn how to implement automation to increase throughput and standardize sample handling.

Angelica Olcott Biography:
My career in product marketing has focused on analytical systems to support the biopharmaceutical industry as well as large academic centers. During the past 10 years, I specialized in laboratory automation and personal flow cytometry, and recently combined these two interests as the lead product manager for Micro-Flow Imaging at ProteinSimple. I am interested in how this technology can be used to evaluate particle contaminants across a variety of protein formulations and biological samples. Prior to joining industry, I completed doctoral research in molecular pharmacology, involving peptide-based and anti-oxidant strategies for autoimmune disorders.

Dan Bach Kristensen Biography:
As a protein chemist I initially worked in the field of proteomics (1996 to 2004) and later with the development of biopharmaceuticals (2004 to present). A key focus of my work has been to evaluate and solve aggregation challenges of biopharmaceutical products, ranging from small peptides to large protein (recombinant antibodies), including manual and automated analysis of sub-visible particles by Micro-Flow Imaging.
